What is the CDCP (Canadian Dental Care Plan)?
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal public program offering free dental coverage.
In 2024, the CDCP is available to families whose annual income is under $90,000:
- Under $70,000: full coverage
- Between $70,000 and $79,999: partial coverage
- Between $80,000 and $89,999: reduced coverage
Covered services include dental cleanings, exams and consultations, emergencies, restorations and fillings, fluoride treatments, X-rays, root canal treatments, and extractions.
Please note that certain major treatments—such as crowns or partial/complete dentures—require prior approval before starting treatment to confirm coverage.
